Welcome! I’m Shaezmina Khan & this is my blog where I’ll be writing about everything from being a Muslim girl attending an American boarding school, politics, the hijab, my heritage, and scientific/medical research that interests me the most!
—————————————————————————————————————————————–Just a little bit about me:
I am a high-school student who lives in the US (more specifically, the East Coast). My last name alone gives away the fact that I am Pakistani, although I frequently get mistaken as being Arab. Nevertheless, my heritage is something I am super proud of, and you’ll probably be hearing about it in my posts.
In addition to this, my family & friends would also classify me as a teensy bit opinionated (probably an understatement), but hopefully that trait of mine will allow me to make my posts exciting, whether you agree with what I say or not. When it comes to hot political topics, I am definitely not one to stay quiet. I love being to express my own view in political discussions, and definitely take part in political and cultural dialogue that has something to do in regard to my identity as a Muslim living in the West. When it comes to politics, my interests usually include something along the lines of Middle Eastern & Near Eastern affairs, and topics dealing with Islam and the West and what impact US foreign policy has had on the Muslim world.
Lastly, I want to let you all know that I am a peoples-person and love to have fun with my family and friends! I am firm believer in the phrase “a picture is worth a thousand words,” and for that reason, I love to take cool pics wherever I go. Traveling and being able to immerse myself in the culture of another country is probably my favorite thing to do, so I am always up for the adventure of meeting new people and seeing more of the world piece by piece.
